Set-up your payment account

To sell your images and start receiving payments for your sales, you'll first need to set up your payment account. This involves creating an account with Stripe Connect, a secure and efficient way to manage transactions. We use this service to handle payments and ensure smooth transactions between buyers and sellers.

By setting up your Stripe Connect account, you'll be able to receive payments for products and services sold on our marketplace. This integration facilitates the movement of funds, ensuring that payments from buyers and pay-outs to sellers are made securely. Our goal is to provide a seamless and reliable experience for all our users.

Setting up your Stripe Connect account is a straightforward process, and we're here to assist you every step of the way. You'll be guided through this process under the 'sell' section of your account; click 'set up payments' to get started. Depending on your region, the information you need to provide will vary. Stripe Connect will ask for Know Your Customer (KYC) details, which typically includes your full name, date of birth, address, and social security number or taxpayer ID (depending on the region).

These requests for information are essential for maintaining security and protecting their platform, ClickASnap, and yourself. KYC checks help verify your identity, ensuring that all transactions are legitimate and reducing the risk of fraud. This process helps prevent financial crimes and fraudulent payments, providing a safer environment for all users.

Stripe may need additional information from you from time-to-time, for example if you have reached a certain threshold in your sales. Our support team will reach out to you at that point to notify you of this, let you know the information being requested and why, as well as to guide you through how to submit it. 

Stripe Connect also employs advanced fraud detection and prevention measures. By monitoring transactions and user behaviour, they can identify and mitigate potential fraudulent activities, ensuring that your account and funds are always protected. If your account is flagged for any reason, you may not be able to receive any pay-outs, your account could be closed and you may not be able to continue as a seller on our platform. How do pay-outs works?

Once you have set up your payments, you can complete your product setup and start earning profits from your sales. You can view a summary of your current balance, any pending amounts and your all-time earnings from your Sell page. Your balance is made up from your total profits, minus any pending amounts. Your pending balance shows you the profits that have yet to clear in your connected account. Your all-time earnings showcase how much you've earnt over your whole time selling with ClickASnap. These amounts will be shown to you in the currency of your connected bank account.


You must meet a minimum earning threshold in order to receive a pay-out. Once you have met this threshold, you can choose to 'cash out'. You will not be able to receive any pay-outs if you have not met this threshold. Your pay-out history can be viewed through your dashboard, which you can access by selecting the 'view all payments' button. 


If you cancel your Pro subscription before cashing out, your earnings will be inaccessible, however, they will remain held in your account. If you delete your account before cashing out, you will be unable to access or receive any unclaimed earnings. Pay-outs will be made to you in currency of your linked bank account.

What fees are there?

There are three kinds of fees which may apply to your sales, and we have listed them out in more detail below. 

    

Chargeback fees: Chargebacks occur when a customer disputes a transaction with their issuing bank. In the event of a chargeback, the amount will be deducted from your balance, and you will be notified. Chargeback fees may apply, and the outcome will determine whether the funds are returned to your account or remain with the customer. While we act as the intermediary to sell your content and we will manage the handling of a dispute, the responsibility of dispute charges ultimately remains with you, as you hold the rights to the content. It’s important to keep clear records of your licenses and ensure all terms are properly followed. Please reach out to our support team, should this situation occur and you would like additional support. Service fees: These are the fees that we, ClickASnap, charge for managing the licensed content and facilitating the marketplace where you sell your content. These fees help cover the costs of things like hosting, marketing, processing refunds, handling disputes and providing customer support to ensure a smooth and efficient experience for both sellers and buyers. You can find out what percentage our service fee is charged at when setting up your pricing. 


Standard processing fees: These are the fees that the payment processor, Stripe, collect in order to process transactions, offer risk and fraud prevention and for compliance and security. We typically cover any processing fees for payments, however, in certain cross-region payments these may be deducted from your connected account. Please note that we are not in control of these fees. Any changes to these fees will be communicated to you via your payment dashboard, by Stripe. 

What is the service fee for? 

Your ClickASnap subscription gives you access to various features, including the ability to sell your content in our marketplace. However, offering this feature involves some operational considerations and costs. The platform plays a critical role in supporting the marketplace by providing access to a large customer base, marketing the products, handling payment processing, managing transactions, and ensuring security. These services require ongoing resources to maintain, and the service fee helps cover these costs. This allows us to continue offering the tools and infrastructure necessary to maintain a secure, trusted marketplace where you can successfully sell your content.


We're proud to offer some of the most competitive service fees in the image licensing industry. Our goal is to keep these fees as low as possible because we believe you should earn from your images, not us. By structuring payments and pay-outs the way we have and by utilising the right tools, we're able to provide you with top-notch service while ensuring your profits remain strong.
